I haven’t been back to the East Coast since we moved west in December, so I’m happy to say that I’ll be heading to Charleston, S.C., this weekend to celebrate the impending wedding of one of my nearest and dearest. The wedding isn’t til May, but a pre-nuptial ladies’ weekend is in order and I’m pumped for some beach time, Chucktown bar-hopping and QT with the bride-to-be. There’s little I love more (or know better) than the Carolina shore in April, so packing for this trip will be a breeze. Going in my bag: several shades of blue, loose knits, summerweight scarves and crisp whites.

Music festival season is nearly upon us my friends, and while I won’t be heading south to Indio this month, I’m already planning my festival attire anyway. The Bay Area is playing host to its own awesome music celebration this spring, with Bottlerock hitting the Napa Valley in May, and I certainly won’t be missing that. Music fest getups should be easy but fun, and comfortable footwear is of the utmost importance, since no one likes traipsing around festival fields/gravel/mud pits in heels. Other things to take into consideration are sun and heat, so easy fabrics and sun protection are key.
Happy music festing!

Almost forgot – a comfy bag big enough to carry all the essentials:
The growing numbers of terry/sweatshirt/jersey options on fashionable shelves is really challenging my self-control when it comes to shopping; I just can’t seem to get enough of the comfortable stuff. I’ve been living in this terry cardigan since I got it and honestly don’t plan on taking it off anytime soon, since it somehow seems to work just as well over PJs as it does out and about. Hopefully it’ll satiate the comfortable addiction, for at least a little while.
As evidenced by my previous posts, I’m having a bit of a minty moment (or two) and can’t seem to get enough of this oh-so-lovely color. But who’s to blame me? Clearly my favorite shops and designers agree, as the available tempting options out there are only increasing.
So it’s Valentine’s Day. Apart from the candy – and yes, the candy is awesome – I think this day is kinda lame. I can appreciate the value in telling those you love just how much you appreciate them, but a., I don’t see why we need a Hallmark holiday that tells us to do that once a year; and b., it’s a pretty crappy reminder of loneliness when you’re single. Seems kinda unnecessary.
Anyway, not trying to be a curmudgeon – perhaps it’s just that red is really not my color.
