Shirt-dressing

Patterson J. Kincaid dress (similar), Topshop dress (worn as bottom layer), K. Jacques sandals, Mulberry oversized Alexa bag, vintage lockets, Chloe shades

Is it me, or has this been an awfully long week already? Seems like it should’ve been Friday about two days ago by my count. One of those weeks, I guess.

I’ve started to notice that I go through some serious phases with clothes – lately it’s all been about button-downs. Do you find yourself going through phases with your closet?

To the beach

Thml crochet top (last seen here), Paige Jimmy Jimmy shorts, Madewell chambray ex-boyfriend shirt (also seen here), K.Jacques St. Tropez sandals, CXXVI bag, Marc Jacobs sunglasses, vintage necklace, bracelets by Gorjana, Shashi, vintage, street vendors

So if you’ve been reading this blog for longer than say, five minutes, you know that I am pretty into the beach. But what you may not know is that the best time of the day on the shore, by far, is that hour after showers and before dinner (and not just cause of the cocktails – well maybe a little because of the cocktails) when everything turns all golden and blue and most everyone’s gone inside. The other night I found myself subconsciously channeling the colors of that hour at the ocean before a little walk down there, and I had a thought on a new style theme: Dress like your favorite time of day. Weird? Yes. But imagine the fun we’ll have!

Simple details

Sauce Fringe dress, Carrera sunglasses, K. Jacques sandals, vintage necklace, belt was my husband’s

Sometimes my favorite items are those that are simple as they come, with just a tiny bit of detail. Ease is as important as ever in these steamy summer months, so I find myself drawn to simple details more and more as the mercury rises. This dress is slightly elevated above T-shirt status with its fringe detail (without sacrificing that T-shirt comfort), making it perfect for dinner out with sky-high wedges and piles of jewelry or for throwing over a bikini for a trip to the beach.
