Dress+blazer+boots is such an easy go-to ensemble for fall, and ease has been pretty high on my list lately with the cross-country move and all. When everything you own is packed away in one suitcase or another, the fewer items you need, the better, so stumbling across your easiest wrap dress while digging through a mass of clothing is pretty exciting.
In this day and age of online everything, I’ve gotten accustomed to having pretty much anything I could possibly desire available on my doorstep with just a few keystrokes. There are still a few retailers, however, that haven’t made that online leap for one reason or another – the desirability it creates, laziness, whatever – and it tends to drive me a little nuts. That’s why I was super pumped to learn that my Canadian favorite Aritzia was launching an online store, and yesterday, it went live. Yep. Just do it.
I spent of good bit of time over the Thanksgiving holiday frolicking in the East Coast sand, despite less-than-balmy temps. To maximize the hours outdoors, I lived in knits of all shapes and sizes pretty much all weekend (learning quickly that loose-knit types aren’t so great for ocean breezes). My sister knitted me this headband a while back and it’s pretty perfect for chilly-but-not-too-chilly days, though I’ve discovered that it’s one of those pieces that you’ve gotta commit a full day to, as it is not so kind to the hair, especially that of the banged variety.
I’m not normally one to be drawn toward ruffles and bows and the like, but given my affinity for flowy blouses of late, this one was hard to resist. The serious wind we’ve been experiencing around here recently – as evidenced by my tresses in these photos – has really amped up the flow factor of said blouses, heightening their appeal even more. Well, at least until it gets any colder – boo winter.
