I spent of good bit of time over the Thanksgiving holiday frolicking in the East Coast sand, despite less-than-balmy temps. To maximize the hours outdoors, I lived in knits of all shapes and sizes pretty much all weekend (learning quickly that loose-knit types aren’t so great for ocean breezes). My sister knitted me this headband a while back and it’s pretty perfect for chilly-but-not-too-chilly days, though I’ve discovered that it’s one of those pieces that you’ve gotta commit a full day to, as it is not so kind to the hair, especially that of the banged variety.

Fall Uniform

As soon as the temperature starts to drop, I transition pretty directly into a fairly standard fall go-to uniform – a sweater with skinny jeans, booties and a cropped jacket. Given the somewhat erratic weather here in the South (and the warm autumns and sometimes winters we tend to have), lighter-weight sweaters are key, and this one (knitted by my grandmother) has come in awfully handy.
